🌊 MONTEROSSO AL MARE
✨ The sea, the colours and the soul of the Cinque Terre
Among the villages of the Cinque Terre, Monterosso al Mare is one of those special places that invites you to slow down and enjoy every moment.
Here, you can combine a pleasant stroll through narrow streets and colourful houses with a few relaxing hours by the sea, surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Ligurian hills.
Monterosso is divided into two areas: Fegina, the more modern part overlooking the sea, and the historic centre, with its charming narrow streets, small squares, restaurants and shops. The two areas are connected by a convenient pedestrian tunnel.
🏖️ A DAY BY THE SEA
Monterosso has the largest beach in the Cinque Terre, making it the perfect destination if you would like to combine sightseeing with a few relaxing hours on the beach.
In the Fegina area, you will find both beach clubs and free public beach areas, as well as bars and cafés where you can stop for a pleasant break.
🌊 Our tip: bring your swimsuit and a beach towel even if you are only planning to visit the village. The sea may tempt you to stay a little longer!
🏘️ WANDER THROUGH THE HISTORIC CENTRE
Leave the beach behind for a while and enjoy a leisurely walk through the historic heart of Monterosso.
Among narrow streets, colourful façades, stone steps and little viewpoints overlooking the sea, you will discover the most authentic side of the village.
There is no need to follow a specific itinerary: part of Monterosso’s charm is simply discovering it at your own pace.

🚆 HOW TO GET THERE
To visit Monterosso and the Cinque Terre, we recommend travelling by train.
It is generally the easiest and most convenient option, allowing you to travel comfortably from one village to another while avoiding traffic and parking difficulties.
When you arrive at Monterosso railway station, you will find yourself practically right by the sea. 🌊
💙 STELLA MARINA’S TIP
Don’t try to see everything in a hurry.
Allow at least half a day for Monterosso, or even better, a full day: wander through the village, relax on the beach, taste a local speciality and simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The Cinque Terre are even more magical when, for a few hours, you forget about the clock.
